I love beauty shots! Taking time to pose and stylize a shot is my favorite type of photography. For this wedding ( see image below ) I was able to learn from the best! Jamie S. brought me on as a second shooter. I have worked with her as a fly on the wall for about 5 session before this wedding. This was a unique opportunity for me to learn how to shot more editorial style weddings and push me to use people, nature and my creative mind only. The challenges I fasted was time, as the couple was celebrating getting married and wanting to share this moment with friends and family. The other challenges I fasted was capturing an image that could be featured on a magazine. Not every shot is worhty to be a framed photo and Jamie had me keep that in mind. If you want to have your work displayed on the cover of a Bridal Magazine what will make you stand out? For me capturing authentic emotion from my clients and using their environment, untouched is my way of standing out. Having the ability to snap a photo at the right moment is something that takes years to learn. Trust me, I used to take over 3 thousand photos each wedding, now that number has gone down to less that 1,700. Learning composition and understanding lighting and framing really has helped me take less photos and leave my editing desk asking myself If I even need to edit.
This beautiful couple gave us the chance to play with their scenery and bubbly personalties. In this image you can see how ecstatic they are and willing to let loose and play in the sand. The shot that was taken was a raw moment that wasn't stages exactly how I wanted. It was better than that. I froze this moment and feeling with one shot.
